Food Grade HPMC Hydroxypropyl Methyl Cellulose is a non-ionic watersoluble cellulose ether Hypromellose,targeted for the food and dietarysupplement applications.Food grade HPMC products are derived from naturalcotton linter and wood pulp, meeting all the requirements of E464 along with Kosher and Halal Certifications.
Food grade HPMC is in compliance with FDA, EU and FAO/WHO guidelines,is manufactured in compliancewith GMP standard, retaining FSSC22000, ISO9001 and ISO14001 certifications.
Food grade HPMC can be directly applied to food not only as emulsifier,binder, thickener or stabilizer, butalso as packing material.Thermal gelation and water retention of HPMC blocks oil absorption into food andmoisture loss during frying, providing a fresh and crisp taste. Moreover, these properties aids in gas retentionduring baking for increasing baked volume and improving texture.

PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL PROPERTIES:
* Apperance: White or almost white fibrous or granular powder.
* Particle size: 98.5% passes through 100 mesh; 100% passes through 80 mesh.
* Charring temperature: 280-300ºC.
* Bulk density: 0.25-0.70 g/cm3 (Usually around 0.5 g/cm3 )
* Real specific gravity: 1.26-1.31.
* Browning temperature: 190-200ºC.
* Surface tension: (2% water solution) 42-56dyn.cm.
* Properties: Dissolved in water and some organic solvent such as ethanol. propyl alcohol. ethylene chloride, the water solution is of surface activity. It is a nonionic surface active agent. Gelation temperature is different for different grades. For example, among 60RT Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, 60 is gelation temperature, Namely, 2% water solution will form gelation at 60%.
