Hydroxyethyl Methyl Cellulose (HEMC) also known as MHEC, Methyl Hydroxyethyl Cellulose, are water soluble nonionic cellulose ethers, which are offered as free flowing powder or in granular form cellulose.
HEMC/MHEC can be used as high efficient water retention agent, stabilizer, adhesives and film-forming agent in Construction, tile adhesives, cement and gypsum based plasters, liquid detergent, and many other applications.

PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL PROPERTIES:
* Particle size: 98.5% passes through 100 mesh; 100% passes through 80 mesh.
* Charring temperature: 280-300ºC.
* Bulk density: 0.25-0.70 g/cm3 (Usually around 0.5 g/cm3 )
* Real specific gravity: 1.26-1.31.
* Browning temperature: 190-200ºC.
* Surface tension: (2% water solution) 42-56dyn.cm.
* Properties: Dissolved in water and some organic solvent such as ethanol. propyl alcohol. ethylene chloride, the water solution is of surface activity. It is a nonionic surface active agent. Gelation temperature is different for different grades. For example, among 60RT Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, 60 is gelation temperature, Namely, 2% water solution will form gelation at 60%.

Application Guide:
Tile Adhesive
1.The main advantage of HEMC tile adhesive is its strong bonding ability, as well as its waterproof and moisture-proof properties. It is not easily aged and is often used for exterior wall decoration.
2."Strong adhesion, material-saving, securely safe, avoiding hollow or detachment phenomenon."
3."Has excellent impermeability and resistance to aging."
4."Flexible and able to absorb the expansion and contraction between the base material and the tiles, thereby extending the lifespan of the tiles."
Self-leveling
1.Construction is made easy and efficient with the use of gypsum self-leveling flooring, which ensures precise dimensions and a high level of flatness.
2.Reducing costs, increasing the height density, and effectively reducing the building load, lowering construction costs, and improving the seismic resistance level of the building.
3.Gypsum self-leveling has a low density, which can reduce the weight-bearing capacity of buildings. It is an environmentally friendly and energy-saving product.
3.Motar
1.Cellulose ether gives wet mortar excellent viscosity, significantly increases the bonding ability between wet mortar and the substrate, and improves the sag resistance of the mortar. It is widely used in plastering mortar, tile adhesive mortar, and external wall insulation systems.
2.Cellulose ether has excellent water retention properties, which can prevent premature evaporation of water in wet mortar or absorption by the substrate, ensuring sufficient hydration of cement and ultimately guaranteeing the mechanical performance of the mortar. This is particularly beneficial for thin-layer mortar and for mortar construction on absorbent substrates or under high temperature and dry conditions. The water retention effect of cellulose ether can change traditional construction processes and improve construction progress, such as allowing plastering on water-absorbent substrates without the need for pre-wetting.
3.Cellulose ether has a significant air-entraining effect on freshly mixed cementitious materials. Cellulose ether possesses both hydrophilic groups (hydroxyl and ether groups) and hydrophobic groups (methyl and glucose rings), making it a surfactant with surface activity and, therefore, air-entraining effects.
4.Cellulose ether can prolong the setting time of cement paste or mortar, delaying the hydration kinetics of cement. This is beneficial for improving the workability of freshly mixed materials, enhancing the consistency of mortar, and the slump loss of concrete over time. However, it may also slow down the construction progress.
